HN Expert is a special food for frequent or prolonged diarrhoea. It is suitable for the exclusive feeding of infants from birth or for supplementary feeding after the 6th month.

Diarrhoea is associated with a loss of fluids, which can lead to dehydration of the body, especially in infants and young children. Dietary management serves to prevent increased fluid loss and normalise bowel function. Specialist organisations recommend the administration of drinkable rehydration solutions and the continuation of feeding.

We have developed Humana HN specifically to support diet management in cases of frequent or prolonged diarrhoea.

Humana Expert is our speciality food for infants and young children with special dietary needs - based on the latest scientific findings.

• Supports normalisation of the stool pattern: Incomplete nutrient absorption leads to an osmotic shift of fluid into the intestine, resulting in diarrhoea symptoms. The high proportion of maltodextrin in Humana HN is easily absorbed and the reduced fat content reduces the passage of water into the intestine. This supports the normalisation of the stool pattern.
• With banana: The high fibre content of the banana flakes and the galacto-oligosaccharides promote regeneration to normal stool consistency. In addition, the pleasant flavour of the food facilitates adequate food intake.
• Reduced lactose content: Diarrhoea is often accompanied by short-term reduced lactase activity and a resulting lactose malabsorption. The lactose content in Humana HN is reduced to adapt to the affected intestine, which counteracts lactose malabsorption.

How to use

Follow the instructions when preparing the infant formula: Clean the bottle, teat and ring thoroughly. Prepare each meal fresh. Feed immediately and do not reuse leftovers. Incorrect preparation and storage can lead to health problems.

1. Boil water, allow to cool to 50° C and pour half into a clean bottle.
2. Remove the powder with the enclosed measuring spoon, scrape off the edge and pour the required amount into the bottle.
3. Close the bottle and shake vigorously immediately, then add the remaining water and shake vigorously again.
4. Attach teat and check contents for drinking temperature (37°C).

Note: Do not heat in the microwave (risk of scalding).

Important information: Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your baby. Talk to your paediatrician or midwife if you want to use an infant formula. Humana HN is based on cow's milk protein and is not suitable in case of cow's milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance or disorders of glucose and galactose metabolism. Humana HN is suitable for exclusive feeding of infants from birth or for complementary feeding after 6 months of age. Always consult a doctor if your baby suffers from diarrhoea and the diarrhoea symptoms do not improve. Only suitable for enteral feeding. Only use Humana HN under medical supervision. Do not allow your baby to suck the bottle continuously. Like breast milk, infant formula contains carbohydrates, which can cause tooth decay if they come into frequent or prolonged contact with the teeth.
