- BV often occurs when the natural balance of the vaginal flora changes. Thanks to the natural colonisation with bacteria, a healthy vaginal environment is acidic. If this vaginal flora is reduced, other bacteria can multiply and trigger BV. Typical symptoms are abnormal discharge, unpleasant odour and discomfort.
- Many factors, such as menstruation, sexual intercourse, the use of hygiene products in the intimate area or too frequent washing, have an influence on the pH value of the vagina. Antibiotics and the use of intrauterine devices (IUDs, e.g. coils) can also affect the natural balance of the vaginal environment.

How to use
- Treatment: For rapid relief of BV with abnormal discharge, unpleasant odour and discomfort, use one tube daily for 7 days at bedtime.
- Maintenance: If symptoms recur or if you suspect your vaginal environment is compromised, you can use Balance Activ Vaginal Gel to restore the natural pH and vaginal flora. Repeat the treatment and use one tube daily for 7 days before bedtime.
- It is most comfortable to use Balance Activ Vaginal Gel in a comfortable lying position before going to bed. Twist off the cap, insert the entire neck of the tube into your vagina and squeeze out the contents. Pull out the squeezed tube and dispose of it. Use a panty liner, as you may have a slight discharge. If this is the case, you can assume that the Balance Activ Gel is working effectively.
- Balance Activ vaginal gel is packaged in hygienic disposable tubes. It can also be used during menstruation and pregnancy. However, if a vaginal infection is suspected during pregnancy, a doctor should be consulted. Balance Activ Vaginal Gel may cause stinging, burning or itching if the vaginal mucosa is cracked. This is only temporary. If symptoms persist, discontinue use and seek medical advice.
- Warnings: Do not use damaged tubes. Do not use after the stated expiry date. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Do not use on children.
- Precautions: Balance Activ Vaginal Gel can be used during pregnancy. However, if a vaginal infection is suspected during pregnancy, a doctor should be consulted. Do not use Balance Activ if you wish to become pregnant, as the low pH value of the gel can have an unfavourable effect on sperm. Do not use for contraception.
