Gall Pharma Glucosamine Sulphate + MSM 1:1 capsules contain 250 mg of D-glucosamine sulphate as potassium salt and 250 mg of MSM per capsule. This combination helps with signs of joint wear and tear and supports recovery after muscular exertion.
D-glucosamine sulphate and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) are nutrients produced naturally by the body and represent a source of the biologically available form of sulphur. Sulphur, as a non-metallic mineral, is present in virtually every cell of the body and is important for the nerves, connective tissue, skin, hair and joints. Glucosamine is an amino sugar and plays an essential role in the synthesis of connective tissue. It is a building block of cartilage matrix, tendons and ligaments, which contain collagen and proteoglycans . Glucosamine is involved in the secretion of these proteoglycans, the synthesis of collagen and the ground substance of cartilage cells, as well as in the growth and regeneration of bone. Furthermore, this glucose derivative has an inhibitory effect on the enzymes that break down the ground substance of joint and cartilage tissue . MSM is capable of alleviating the signs and symptoms of pain and inflammation caused by various joint and muscle disorders such as e.g. arthritis and osteoarthritis. It is thought that MSM blocks the transmission of pain signals, thereby providing pain relief. MSM also has the ability to reduce muscle cramps (e.g. nocturnal calf cramps).
Glucosamine sulphate + MSM 1:1 GPH capsules contain 250 mg of D-glucosamine sulphate as potassium salt and 250 mg of MSM in a hard gelatine capsule. With advancing age, there may be a reduction in the body’s own glucosamine production and the absorption of glucosamine sulphate from food, a decline in the division and synthesis capacity of cartilage cells, and exposure of the collagen fibres. The consequences are calcification and a reduction in both water content and swelling capacity. This leads to a reduction in the cartilage’s ability to cushion impacts and shocks. As dietary supplements, glucosamine sulphate and MSM are particularly suitable for sportspeople to aid recovery following muscular exertion, for people suffering from arthritis or osteoarthritis, and for older people with signs of joint wear and tear. This dietary supplement supports the long-term build-up of cartilage tissue.
