Gall Pharma Yam + DHEA 25 mg capsules are a food supplement containing 475 mg yam extract and 25 mg DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) per capsule.

The unique combination of yam extract and DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone acetate) provides well-being during the menopause and energy in old age. DHEA is naturally produced by the body. With increasing age, DHEA production in the adrenal cortex decreases dramatically. For comparison: a 60-year-old person has only a fifth of the original amount of DHEA in their blood. Smoking, stress and obesity put additional pressure on DHEA levels. The ageing process is therefore linked to the DHEA concentration in the blood. In Asia, the yam (Dioscorea villosa) has a reputation as a "rejuvenating agent". The yam was originally native to North and Central America, but now colonises all tropical to temperate regions worldwide. Carl von Linnè named the yam genus Dioscorea in honour of the Greek physician Pedanios Dioscurides. This plant is valued for its high content of diosgenin, a natural substance that is similar to the body's own corpus luteum hormone progesterone. This is why the balancing yam is particularly popular in women's health and is mainly used during the female menopause and during menstruation.

Directions
  • Adults: Take 1 x 1 capsule daily with liquid.
  • Advice: If you regularly take medication or suffer from chronic illnesses, only take after consulting a doctor. Not suitable for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers.

  • Ingredients: Yam root extract, maize starch, DHEA; anti-caking agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids, capsule shell: gelatine; colours in the capsule shell: titanium dioxide, indigo carmine, quinoline yellow (may impair activity and attention in children!).
