Gall Pharma Vaseline (Vaselinum album) is a nourishing and protective ointment for treating skin irritations; it protects the skin from external influences and prevents chapped lips in cold weather.

Due to the skin’s location (acting as a barrier between the body and the environment), its delicate structure and the variety of external influences, skin irritations are common. The wide range of skin changes is very often caused by a combination of several, mostly non-specific factors. For this reason, it is necessary to protect the skin against external influences. This can be achieved by applying a protective film or by using healing and soothing ointments or creams.

Intensive cleansing (daily bathing with copious amounts of bath additives or contact with washing detergents, washing-up liquids and chemicals) can disrupt the skin’s natural moisturising process. Cold and wind also cause the skin’s surface to dry out. All these external factors lead to skin irritation such as cracks, flaking and redness. To prevent the skin from losing its natural oils or becoming dry, it is advisable to protect the skin’s natural protective barrier against these irritants. Vaseline is a virtually water-free mixture of hydrocarbons with a thick, ointment- to paste-like consistency; it is tasteless and odourless. When applied in a thin layer, Vaseline forms a translucent film that protects the skin. Vaseline is resistant to air and cold, as well as to strong acids and alkalis.

Notes: Discontinue use in the event of hypersensitivity reactions or other irritation. Avoid contact with the eyes! Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life after opening: 18 months.
