Gall Pharma Tomato Capsules are a dietary supplement containing 400 mg of tomato powder, 7.5 mg of vitamin C, 2.2 mg of vitamin E and 40 µg of lycopene per capsule. To support general health and strengthen the body’s defences.
The antioxidant and immune-boosting vitamins contained in the capsules work synergistically to protect our cells from free radicals. As an antioxidant, the carotenoid lycopene has cell-protective properties. Tomato Capsules contain abalanced combination of natural antioxidants for dietary supplementation.
Active ingredient
- The main component of the tomato is water. Furthermore, this nightshade plant (Solanaceae) contains important micronutrients, such as vitamins A, E, C and B, numerous minerals and secondary plant compounds. The carotenoid lycopene gives the tomato its red colour. Lycopene is considered a highly effective free radical scavenger. The body’s cells are exposed to significant stress on a daily basis. Free radicals are capable of damaging our cells and causing them to age more rapidly. The immune system is also often weakened. Reactive atoms or molecules are produced, amongst other things, by UV light (e.g. sunbeds), electromagnetic radiation, oxidative stress (cigarette smoking) and also naturally within the body at all times. Radicals are a natural part of life and can be counteracted by healthy individuals. Ideally, there is a balance between oxidative (radicals) and antioxidant (radical scavengers) processes in the body. If radicals are present in excessively high concentrations, this leads to changes or damage to functional biomolecules and, consequently, to cell damage (e.g. atherosclerosis). Our modern lifestyle – high levels of physical and mental stress, an unbalanced diet and negative environmental influences – promotes the formation of free radicals. They damage cells and are therefore involved in the development of many diseases.
