Good weather and, above all, sunlight have a positive effect on our state of mind. A light tan makes us look healthier and helps us to feel "fitter" and more comfortable. However, high exposure to light promotes oxidative stress and the formation of free radicals. This can lead to photoageing and degeneration of the skin.

Active ingredients

• Beta-carotene belongs to the carotenoid group. These are compounds which, as natural pigments, give many plants and some animals their typical orange, yellow or red colour and protect them from aggressive oxygen compounds. As beta-carotene, a precursor of vitamin A, is only produced in plants, it must be supplied with food. Vitamin A is produced from beta-carotene in the human body through enzymatic cleavage. Vitamin A provides protection for the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Beta-carotene itself protects the human body from oxidative damage caused by exposure to light. As a dietary supplement, it can be used to promote skin tanning and prevent premature skin ageing. However, it does not protect against sunburn - sun exposure can lead to oxidative stress. Antioxidants such as vitamin E and the trace element selenium are able to render free radicals harmless. Pantothenic acid, also known as vitamin B5, is used to treat burns and wound healing disorders.
• Biotin, the vitamin for skin, hair and nails, is important for the development of skin tissue.

Directions

Adults: 1 capsule daily with food. Start 4 weeks before sun exposure and continue until the end of sun exposure.
