Gall Pharma Ornithine / Arginine Capsules are a food supplement containing 250 mg L-ornithine and 500 mg L-arginine per daily dose. The amino acid combination strengthens the immune system, supports detoxification of the body and much more.
Ornithine is a basic, non-proteinogenic amino acid that is produced in the urea cycle when urea is broken down from L-arginine. It is found in many plants and is not itself a protein building block. Ornithine is used in combination with arginine, citrulline and aspartic acid to detoxify ammonia. Ammonia is converted into urea in the liver and excreted in the urine. L-ornithine is also important for the hormone release of insulin, prolactin, glucagon and the growth hormone and promotes immunocompetence.
Arginine, on the other hand, is a semi-essential amino acid and is mainly found in foods with a high protein content. Semi-essential amino acids are amino acids for which the body's own production is not always sufficient. This is particularly the case in stressful situations, such as during training or under stress. In such cases, they should be supplied to the body in a targeted manner with food or by means of nutritional supplements. Arginine stimulates the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which leads to vascular relaxation.
The two amino acids arginine and ornithine are involved in the release of growth hormone (STH) and are therefore also said to have an anabolic effect. The two also support liver function, particularly in the detoxification of metabolites such as ammonia, which are increasingly produced during high physical exertion. They should be taken shortly before training or at night. You should not eat anything one to two hours before and after, as carbohydrates would inhibit the release of growth hormones by releasing insulin, thus cancelling out the desired effect.
