Gall Pharma L-Glutamine Capsules are a food supplement containing 500 mg L-Glutamine per capsule. The amino acid contributes to memory and concentration, provides the body's cells with energy, supports detoxification and promotes motor skills.
Like all other amino acids, L-glutamine is a building block of proteins. It promotes the build-up of muscle proteins and at the same time prevents their breakdown. The amino acid is an extremely important source of energy for the digestive tract and also serves as a source of nitrogen for many different metabolic processes. As a non-essential amino acid, L-glutamine can be produced by our body in small quantities, but especially in stressful situations - such as after operations, injuries, chronic illnesses or in competitive sport and in old age - our own production is often no longer sufficient. Supplementing with L-glutamine 500 mg GPH capsules can therefore be useful in certain phases of life. The capsules contain L-glutamine of non-animal origin, which is produced by fermentation.
This amino acid has the following functions:
- Radical scavenger: Together with L-cysteine, L-glutamine serves as the starting material for the synthesis of glutathione. Glutathione protects the cell from free radicals. Our current living conditions - high levels of physical and mental stress, an unbalanced diet and negative environmental influences - promote the formation of free radicals. They damage the cells and are therefore involved in the development of many diseases. Glutathione can render free radicals harmless.
- Energy supplier: L-glutamine is a rich source of energy for the body's cells and is broken down in many tissues of the body to produce energy.
- Calming effect: L-glutamine, but not glutamic acid, can cross the blood-brain barrier. L-glutamine therefore has a positive effect on memory and concentration.
- Supplementing the diet with L-glutamine is particularly recommended for athletes who train intensively. Supplementation with this amino acid has also been shown to strengthen the immune system.
