Gall Pharma Benfotiamine 100 mg capsules are a food supplement containing benfotiamine, the precursor of vitamin B1. Benfotiamine is a precursor of vitamin B1 and is converted into the active vitamin B1 in the body.
The fat-soluble benfotiamine is characterised by a significantly better bioavailability compared to the water-soluble thiamine (about 5 to 7 times higher compared to vitamin B1). Benfotiamine is converted to vitamin B1 in the body. Due to the more effective absorption, a vitamin B1 deficiency can be compensated for more quickly with benfotiamine. Vitamin B1 has numerous functions in the human organism: For example, thiamine contributes to normal energy metabolism and plays a major role in energy production from carbohydrates and proteins. Thiamine also contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, as it is involved in the transmission of stimuli as a phosphate donor. Last but not least, thiamine contributes to normal mental function and normal heart function. As the human organism can only store small amounts of vitamin B1, a regular intake is necessary. Benfotiamine 100 mg GPH capsules contain 100 mg benfotiamine. Vitamin B1 is used as the starting material for production.
