Gall Pharma Antioxidants Plus Capsules are a dietary supplement with vitamins, trace elements and L-glutathione. To strengthen the body's defences and protect the cells from free radicals and oxidative stress.

Antioxidants plus GPH capsules contain 50 mg vitamin C, 20 mg vitamin E, 5 mg reduced glutathione, 5 mg zinc, 50 μg selenium, 6 mg beta-carotene, 2 mg vitamin B2 and 2 mg vitamin B6 in a hard gelatine capsule. Vitamin C as a water-soluble vitamin, vitamin E as a fat-soluble vitamin and beta-carotene act as antioxidants in biological systems. The benefit of the amino acid glutathione lies in its protective effect against the damaging effects of free radicals. Vitamin B2 stands for cell energy and cell respiration. Vitamin B6 is important for tissue metabolism, especially in the liver, nervous system and skin, while zinc is an essential trace element that is important for cell division, for example in skin cells, reproductive organs and the cells of the immune system. The trace element selenium also plays an important role in detoxifying the body.

Antioxidants (oxidation inhibitors) are antioxidant substances that occur naturally in food and in the human organism. They prevent the oxidation of sensitive molecules. Free radicals are able to damage our cells and cause them to age more quickly. They also often weaken the immune system. Reactive atoms or molecules (radicals) are produced by UV light (e.g. solarium), electromagnetic radiation, oxidative stress (cigarette smokers) and also naturally in the organism at any time. Radicals are part of life and can be compensated for by healthy people. Ideally, there is a balance between oxidative (radicals) and antioxidative (radical scavengers) processes in the body. If radicals are present in too high a concentration, this leads to changes or damage to functional biomolecules and thus to cell damage (e.g. atherosclerosis). Our current living conditions - high levels of physical and mental stress, an unbalanced diet and negative environmental influences - promote the formation of free radicals.
