Specialised toothpaste for remineralisation and caries prevention

GC MI Paste Plus combines all the benefits of GC Tooth Mousse but, thanks to its additional fluoride content (900 ppm), has an even stronger effect on remineralisation and hardening than the pure CPP-ACP complex. GC MI Paste Plus is therefore particularly well suited to patients at high risk of tooth decay.

Recaldent™ is derived from the milk protein casein. It has been known for many years that milk and dairy products protect the teeth. Research has shown that this is attributable to a component of the protein casein, known as casein phosphopeptide (or CPP). It carries calcium and phosphate ions in the form of amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP for short).

Indications for GC MI Paste Plus

Caries prevention
Tooth restoration through remineralisation
Restoration of mineral balance in the oral cavity in patients suffering from salivary problems, such as xerostomia, and in cases where proper oral hygiene is difficult to maintain.
Restoring balance following treatments such as bleaching, professional teeth cleaning and curettage, and for desensitisation in cases of exposed tooth necks.
In cases of loss of hard tooth structure due to wear, incorrect brushing technique or parafunctional habits such as bruxism (teeth grinding)
In cases of high caries risk, to reduce caries activity
During orthodontic treatment
Following the application of topical fluoride
As surface protection for individuals experiencing erosion, xerostomia (dry mouth) or Sjögren’s syndrome

How GC MI Paste Plus works:

When GC MI Paste is applied, the CPP-ACPF molecules attach themselves to the biofilm, plaque, bacteria and the surrounding soft tissue, releasing bioavailable calcium, phosphate and fluoride. Saliva flow supports this process; the flavour is designed to stimulate saliva flow effectively.

Directions for use

Apply a sufficient amount of GC MI Paste to the upper and lower jaws using a finger or a cotton swab, and spread it evenly; work it into the interdental spaces using an interdental brush or dental floss.
Leave to act for at least 3 minutes, then spread the remaining paste around the mouth with your tongue and keep it in the mouth for as long as possible (at least 1–2 minutes), taking care not to spit it out or swallow it.
The longer GC MI Paste Plus and saliva are allowed to act, the better the effect.
Spit out any residue carefully, avoiding rinsing if possible. Any residue of GC MI Paste Plus can safely remain in the mouth.
Do not eat or drink for 30 minutes after use.
Contraindications: Casein phosphopeptides are derived from milk casein. Do not use GC MI Paste Plus if you have a milk protein allergy or an allergy/sensitisation to benzoate-containing preservatives.
