Product information "Frontline TRI-ACT® solution for dripping for dogs 40 - 60 kg"

View package leaflet

Frontline TRI-ACT® is a veterinary medicinal product for the treatment and prevention of flea and/or tick infestations, where a repellent effect (prevention of blood feeding) against sand flies, biting flies and/or mosquitoes is also indicated.

Benefits

  • Repels ticks – even before they bite
  • Repels fleas – in the event of an existing infestation, it reduces the risk of fleas laying eggs from which new fleas may hatch and spread throughout the home
  • Repels flying insects – including new species of parasites such as the tiger mosquito and sand fly

The new FRONTLINE Tri-Act® is based on the provensafety profile of FRONTLINE®, enhanced by the innovative combination of the active ingredients fipronil and permethrin.

  • Fipronil is an active ingredient that disrupts the nerve impulses of insects (e.g. fleas) and arachnids (e.g. ticks), causing the parasites to die. The active ingredient is effective against invertebrates but not against mammals such as dogs or humans.
  • The active ingredient permethrin has a repellent and lethal effect against ticks and flying insects, as well as a lethal effect against fleas.
  • This combination results in an improved ‘speed of kill’ compared with the individual active ingredients – meaning that the product takes effect very rapidly and the parasites are killed within 6 hours.
2 Also suitable for puppies weighing 2 kg or more.

Indications

For use on dogs. For the treatment and prevention of flea and/or tick infestations, where a repellent effect (prevention of blood feeding) against sand flies, biting flies and/or mosquitoes is also required.

  • Fleas: Treatment and prevention of infestations with Ctenocephalides felis and prevention of infestations with Ctenocephalides canis. A single treatment prevents re-infestation for 4 weeks. This veterinary medicinal product may be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), provided this has been previously diagnosed by a vet.
  • Ticks: Treatment and prevention of tick infestations (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The treatment kills ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and acts as a repellent against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 4 weeks following treatment. The repellent efficacy against Dermacentor reticulatus begins on day 7 after treatment and lasts for up to 4 weeks.
  • Sand flies and mosquitoes: Acts as a repellent (preventing blood feeding) against sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for 3 weeks and against mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes albopictus) for 4 weeks. Kills sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and mosquitoes (Aedes albopictus) for 3 weeks. Reduces the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum transmitted by sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for up to 4 weeks. The effect is based on the veterinary medicinal product’s indirect efficacy against the vector.
  • Stingflies: Repels (prevents blood feeding) and kills the common stingfly (Stomoxys calcitrans) for 5 weeks.
