Product information "Frontline Spot-on for cats 50 mg solution to be dripped onto the skin"
Frontline Spot-on for Cats 50 mg solution is a veterinary medicinal product for the treatment of cats against flea, tick and lice infestations. It can also be used for the treatment and control of flea bite allergy (flea allergy dermatitis = FAD).
With FRONTLINE SPOT ON, you can reliably protect your cat against parasites such as ticks, fleas and chiggers.
Whether your cat is an indoor cat or an outdoor cat, FRONTLINE SPOT ON is simply applied to the skin, where it blends with the skin’s natural sebum film to act as an invisible protective barrier. This ensures your feline friend is protected during all their adventures indoors, in the garden and in the great outdoors.
Trust the No. 1 treatment for ticks and fleas in dogs and cats¹ – with proven effectiveness and excellent tolerability for your four-legged friend.
- Reliable: FRONTLINE kills fleas within 24 hours and ticks within 48 hours
- Protective: FRONTLINE starts working as soon as the parasite comes into contact with the skin; a bite is not required for the active ingredient to take effect
- Well-tolerated: FRONTLINE’s active ingredient is stored in the uppermost layers of the skin and the sebaceous glands and acts only externally on the skin Simple: FRONTLINE SPOT ON is very easy to apply to the skin thanks to a pre-measured pipette that is already calibrated to the cat’s weight
- Safe: FRONTLINE can be used on kittens from 12 weeks of age, as well as on pregnant and lactating cats
FRONTLINE SPOT ON can also be used to treat flea bite allergy.
FRONTLINE acts only within the parasite itself and, when used correctly, poses no risk to cats or humans.
How Frontline Spot On works
- After application, the product spreads from the application site via the skin’s natural sebum film, acting as an external, invisible protective barrier against ticks, fleas and lice in cats. To ensure optimal distribution, your cat should not be bathed within 2 days of application. Parasites absorb the active ingredient on contact with the fur and skin and are thus rendered harmless.
- To ensure continuous, optimal protection, FRONTLINE SPOT ON should be applied to cats once a month.

Solution for application to the skin
Directions for use
- For application to the skin.
- Safety instructions: Hold the pipette upright. Tap it gently so that the liquid collects fully in the main body of the pipette. Snap off the tip of the pipette at the designated point.
- Part the fur on the back of the neck, in front of the animal’s shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and empty the contents completely by pressing several times in one spot on the skin.
- Frontline Spot-on for Cats spreads across the animal’s entire skin within 24 to 48 hours.
- For the treatment and control of flea bite allergy, it is recommended that the affected pet, as well as other dogs and cats in the household, be treated at monthly intervals.
Dosage: Apply 1 pipette containing 0.5 ml to the skin of each cat, corresponding to a recommended minimum dose of 5 mg/kg fipronil.
The minimum interval between two treatments should be at least 4 weeks, as tolerability for shorter treatment intervals has not been tested.
Contraindications: Not for use in cats younger than 12 weeks.
Do not apply to broken skin. Do not administer internally.
Do not use on rabbits, as this may lead to adverse reactions, which in some cases may be fatal.
Do not use on animals intended for food production.
