- A varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle are also very important after your pregnancy and birth to regain your strength and meet the new challenges, especially if you decide to breastfeed your baby. Breastfeeding helps you to build a close bond with your baby and also provides it with essential nutrients.
- If you are breastfeeding, your body will produce around 300-500ml of breast milk a day for the first week. Depending on what your baby needs, this can increase to 600-700ml of breast milk per day.
- How much milk your body produces, its composition and nutrient content are also influenced by your lifestyle and diet. Breastfeeding your baby also increases your energy requirements and the need for some micronutrients.
- Femibion® 3 Breastfeeding provides you with selected nutrients that can support you during this special time as a supplement to a balanced, varied diet. It contains folate, vitamins D and A, iron, calcium, choline, lutein and other nutrients (iodine, selenium, zinc, vitamins C, B and E). Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness. Calcium contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function.
- Femibion® 3 Lactation contains the omega-3 fatty acid DHA and lutein in a separate capsule. Lutein gives the capsule its characteristic red colour. Femibion® 3 Stillzeit is lactose- and gluten-free and contains no bovine or porcine gelatine.
- FOLIC ACIDis a synthetically produced B vitamin that the body converts into bioactive folate. Folate contributes to normal haematopoiesis and cell division.
- METAFOLIN®is a premium folate form that can be utilised by almost all women.
- CALCIUMcontributes to normal bone and muscle function.
- LUTEINis a carotenoid found in several plants, including many vegetables and fruits. It gives the capsule its characteristic colour.
- CHOLINEcontributes to normal homocysteine metabolism. Your choline requirement is increased during breastfeeding.
- DHAis the abbreviation for docosahexaenoic acid. This important, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid contributes to the normal development of your breastfed baby's brain and eyes*.
