- From the 13th week of pregnancy, your baby’s growth phase begins . With Femibion® 2 Pregnancy, you receive important nutrients that specifically support you and your baby during pregnancy.
- Folate is also important in the second and third trimesters, as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissue (e.g. the placenta). The placenta supplies your baby with all the nutrients it needs. Youshould therefore ensurean adequate intake of folatethroughout your pregnancy .
- Femibion® 2 Pregnancy offers you a unique combination of two sources of folate (folic acid and Metafolin®) and DHA.
- In Femibion® 2 Pregnancy , DHA and lutein arecontained in a separate capsule. Lutein gives the capsule its characteristic red colour.
- As well as folate, lutein and DHA, Femibion® 2 Pregnancy also containsother selected nutrients: 10 vitamins, including vitamin D, iodine, iron, selenium, magnesium and zinc.
- Magnesium contributes to normal energy metabolism and helps reduce tiredness.
- After the birth, we recommend taking Femibion® 3 Breastfeeding, which contains, amongst other things, calcium, which contributesto the maintenance of normal bones and muscle function.
- Breastfeeding helps you to build a close bond with your baby and also provides them with essential nutrients.
- Your need for certain nutrients is also increased whilst breastfeeding , which is why you should ensure you are getting an adequate intake of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA , which contributes to the normal development of your breastfed baby’s brain and eyes . To achieve this, you should take200 mg of DHA daily ,in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults (i.e. 250 mg of DHA and EPA) .
- FOLIC ACID isa synthetically produced B vitamin that the body converts into bioactive folate. Folate contributes to normal blood formation, cell division and the growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy.
- METAFOLIN® is a premium form of folic acid that can be utilised by almost all women.
- LUTEIN isa carotenoid found in various plants, including many vegetables and fruits. It gives the Femibion® capsule its characteristic colour.
- DHA isshort for docosahexaenoic acid. This important, polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid contributes to the normal development of your foetus’s brain and eyes.*
- IODINE contributesto the normal production of thyroid hormones and to normal thyroid function.
- VITAMIN D AND ZINC contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system and play a role in cell division.
- VITAMIN B1, VITAMIN B2 AND BIOTIN contribute to normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of the nervous system.
- VITAMIN B6, VITAMIN B12, NIACIN AND PANTOTHENIC ACID help reduce tiredness and fatigue.
