The meadow button belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). The meadow button herb contains triterpene saponins, tannins and flavonoids, among other things. It prefers to grow in damp meadows. It can be found from western France to south-east China. In folk medicine, it is said to have favourable effects on inflammation of the mouth and throat as well as anti-bleeding properties.
