Hildegard von Bingen already used marigold for digestive disorders. In folk medicine, marigold is also repeatedly mentioned in connection with liver and gall bladder complaints as well as menopausal and menstrual complaints. Locally, marigold is mainly used for inflammation of the mouth and throat.
