Father Severin’s linseed drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The linseed drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of linseed in a ratio of 1:5.
In folk medicine, the ripe and dried seeds of the flax plant (Linum semen) are used; they are said to act as a natural laxative for constipation, as they stimulate bowel movements and thus have a laxative effect. The seed coat contains abundant mucilage, which is composed, amongst other things, of the sugars xylose, galactose and galacturonic acid. The seeds also contain dietary fibre, protein and oils (omega-3 fatty acids).
