Father Severin Elecampane Root Drops are a dietary supplement for oral use. The elecampane root drops contain a high-quality aqueous/alcoholic extract of elecampane root.
Elecampane (Inula helenium) belongs to the Asteraceae family. It has been known since ancient times as a spice and medicinal plant. Its constituents include inulin, essential oil, elecampane acid, camphor, helenin and resins. This plant is mainly used to treat coughs and asthma. The essential oils in elecampane have expectorant effects and can therefore also help to clear the throat. When used externally in the form of tea or diluted tincture for washes, baths or compresses, elecampane can help with skin inflammations, ulcers, eczema or slow-healing wounds.
