Our high-quality walnut oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic and oleic acids. These play a crucial role in the formation of cell membranes. Linoleic acid primarily nourishes the skin’s stratum corneum. Unlike linoleic acid, which primarily strengthens the outermost layer of the skin, oleic acid also penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and nourishes them. The skin’s lipid barrier becomes more permeable, which enhances its ability to absorb fat-soluble substances. This leaves the skin feeling soft. Thanks to the balanced ratio of linoleic and oleic acids, both the upper and deeper structures of the skin are nourished, the tissue is firmed and the regeneration of scars is accelerated. What’s more, walnut oil is rich in vitamin E, which helps protect cells from oxidative stress, as well as biotin, which is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails. Walnut oil ointment is therefore ideal for the intensive care of dry and brittle skin, for softening calluses, and is generally suitable for use on problematic and blemished skin.
