Our high-quality walnut oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic and oleic acids. These play a decisive role in the structure of cell membranes. Linoleic acid nourishes the horny layer of the skin in particular. In contrast to linoleic acid, which primarily strengthens the outermost layer of the skin, oleic acid also penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin and moisturises them. The skin's lipid barrier becomes more permeable, which promotes its ability to absorb fat-soluble substances. This leaves the skin feeling soft. Thanks to the balanced ratio of linoleic acid and oleic acid, both the upper and deeper structures of the skin are nourished, the tissue is redensified and the regeneration of scars is accelerated. Walnut oil is also rich in vitamin E, which helps to protect cells from oxidative stress, and biotin, which is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails. Walnut oil ointment is therefore ideal for the intensive care of dry and chapped skin, for softening calluses and is generally suitable for use on problematic and blemished skin
