Father Severin Primrose Syrup is carefully produced according to an ancient monastery recipe. The primrose syrup consists of an extract of primrose flowers in a flavoursome syrup.
The roots and flowers of the primrose are mainly used. The plant contains saponins as its most important ingredient, but also flavones, essential oil, silicic acid and tannins. Due to its secretolytic and expectorant properties, primrose is used to treat coughs, bronchitis and colds. In folk medicine, it is recommended for headaches, neuralgia and dizziness.
