Parsley is a biennial plant from the umbellifer family and is found in many gardens. It grows outdoors from around April to October. It contains, amongst other things, essential oils, phytochemicals, vitamins A, C and E, as well as beta-carotene and minerals. For external use, parsley can be applied to soothe insect bites.
