Nutmeg is the dried kernel of the fruit of the nutmeg tree with the seed coat removed, which contains essential and fatty oil (myristicae oleum) and is mainly used as a spice. In traditional Indonesian medicine, nutmeg is often used to treat digestive complaints, rheumatism, coughs and nervousness.
