Father Severin’s Catechu Ointment is a traditional skincare product, made according to a monastic recipe using valuable ingredients.
The tannin acacia or catechu (Acacia catechu (L.f.) Willd) belongs to the legume family (Fabaceae). The dried, dark brown extract from the tree’s wood is used. The active ingredients are catechins, catechu tannins, quercetin and quercitrin. Catechu ointment can be used to treat skin irritations and to protect the skin against external influences. It can also be used for joint discomfort.
