Card card is a member of the card family (Dipsacaeae). In addition to iridoids, saponins, caffeic acid derivatives, inulin, it also contains bitter substances and the glycoside scabioside. It is mainly the dried root that is used, which has a diuretic, antibacterial and blood-purifying effect. Cardoon is mainly used to treat Lyme disease.
