Active ingredients

• Glycine saponin (Glycine Soja Germ Extract:) Extracted from soya beans, it is one of the most effective known stimulators of the body’s own hyaluronic acid production. According to studies, the substance increases cellular hyaluronic acid production by up to 256 per cent. Study reference: "Saponins – a new generation of hyaluronic acid-stimulating active ingredients for human skin”, authors: S. Gallinat, F. Rippe, C. Keppler, J. Mergell, A. Bürger, F. Stäb, H. Wenck, Beiersdorf AG, Hamburg. 
• Enoxolone ( glycyrrhetinic acid): Extracted from the root of the Chinese liquorice plant. Mechanism of action: Inhibition of the enzyme hyaluronidase (HYAL), which is responsible for the breakdown of the skin’s own hyaluronic acid – this counteracts the breakdown of hyaluronic acid. 
• Provitamin B5 (panthenol/dexpanthenol): Panthenol and dexpanthenol are two names for the same ingredient, derived from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). It has a strong moisturising effect, improves moisture retention in the upper layers of the skin and reduces transepidermal water loss – keeping the skin supple and elastic. Dexpanthenol also supports skin regeneration and repair. According to the manufacturer’s information, with regular use, demonstrable improvements can be observed in dryness, roughness, flaking and redness. 
• Dihydromyricetin ( Epicelline®): Brand name for the active ingredient dihydromyricetin, extracted from the leaves of the vine tea plant (botanical name: Ampelopsis grossedentata). According to Eucerin, extensive screening of active ingredients has shown that dihydromyricetin can positively influence the epigenetic pattern of skin cells and thus the skin ageing process. This is the key active ingredient in Age-Clock technology. 
• Hyaluronic acid: A naturally occurring component of connective tissue, produced by the skin cells themselves. Main function: moisture retention (binds 1,000 to 10,000 times its own weight in water, i.e. 1 g binds 1–10 litres) and support for skin metabolism. As we age, the body’s own production of hyaluronic acid declines, which manifests itself, amongst other things, in the formation of wrinkles.
