AtopiControl Soothing Ultralight Hydro Lotion is a fragrance-free, daily basic care product that immediately soothes the skin, intensively moisturises for 48 hours, immediately relieves itching and strengthens the skin barrier. The ultra-light texture is absorbed in 60 seconds and cools the skin without being greasy or sticky.
Itching, dry patches of skin and recurring inflammation are stressful for those with eczema-prone skin and often restrict their quality of sleep and life. This is why a regular skin-soothing lotion is necessary. Eucerin AtopiControl Soothing Ultralight Hydro Lotion is a daily basic care product that has been specially developed to soothe irritated and itchy skin and provide intensive moisturisation. The combination of Licochalcone A (liquorice root extract), hyaluronic acid and ceramides provides immediate relief, soothes itchy, eczema-prone skin, is particularly suitable for atopic dermatitis and ensures long-lasting skin comfort. With regular use, the skin condition improves noticeably, the skin becomes softer and feels more supple. The ultra-light, fast-absorbing texture is non-sticky, non-greasy and easy to spread, ideal in summer and for hairy areas of the body. Fragrance-free, Eucerin AtopiControl Soothing Ultralight Hydro Lotion can be used in combination with other Eucerin AtopiControl products and is suitable for adults and children aged 3 and over.
Active ingredients
- Licochalcone A (liquorice root extract): Licochalcone A is a powerful antioxidant and skin-soothing ingredient. It comes from the root of the Chinese liquorice plant (Glycyrrhiza inflata), which uses natural compounds to protect its cells from excessive sunlight. Licochalcone A neutralises free radicals that negatively affect skin cells and accelerate the ageing process. It helps to protect the deeper epidermal layers of the skin from the effects of the sun.
- Hyaluronic acid: Hyaluronic acid is formed by skin cells and is part of the skin's connective tissue. However, the skin's own production of hyaluronic acid decreases with age. One of the main functions of hyaluronic acid is to store moisture: it has the ability to bind 1,000 to 10,000 times its own weight in water (i.e. one gram binds between one and ten litres).
- Ceramides: Ceramides are important lipids in the hydrolipid film (which protects the outer layers of the skin). They are naturally produced in healthy skin and strengthen the skin barrier. They help prevent moisture loss through evaporation and keep out irritants that can cause inflammation and itching. When the skin's ceramide level drops, the skin barrier is compromised. The skin can start to lose water and become dry and irritated.
- Grape seed oil: Grape seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E. The polyphenols and flavonoids in grape seed oil have a strong anti-oxidising effect and thus offer protection against damage caused by free radicals, while linoleic acid soothes and nourishes the skin.
