Energan Calcium Paste for dairy cows is a dietary supplement for dairy cows to reduce the risk of milk fever and subclinical hypocalcaemia.
Energan Calcium is a high-tech calcium-rich paste that is rapidly absorbed. It can be used as a preventative calcium supplement around the time of birth or as an adjunct in the treatment of milk fever. The special feature is that the highly active CaCl2 is finely dispersed and bound to carrier substances, which prevents irritation of the mucous membranes. Calcium propionate, on the other hand, only releases its calcium with a delay and thus serves as a calcium depot

How to use
Feeding period: From the first signs of labour until two days after birth.
To optimise the calcium supply:
- 1 cartridge of Energan Calcium at the first signs of labour (usually 2 - 6 hours before calving),
- 1 cartridge of Energan Calcium 8 - 12 hours later.
Accompanying a milk fever treatment:
- 1 cartridge of Energan Calcium 2 - 4 hours after treatment by the vet,
- 1 cartridge of ENERGAN Calcium 8 - 12 hours later.
Seek the advice of a feeding expert or veterinarian before using the feed.
Application of Energan Calcium:
- Cut off the cap of the cartridge with a knife.
- Unscrew the enclosed applicator.
- Insert the cartridge into the Energan dosing gun.
- Hold the corner of the animal's mouth with your free hand.
- Insert the cartridge into the gullet by carefully pushing it towards the base of the tongue.
- As soon as the handle of the dosing pistol is at the level of the front teeth, empty the cartridge in synchronisation with the animal's swallowing movements*.
*Only administer to animals with a swallowing reflex.
Ingredients
- Composition: Calcium propionate 3.5 %, calcium chloride 11 %, dicalcium phosphate 2.6 %, magnesium oxide 0.97 %, propylene glycol 1.5 %.
- Analytical constituents: Crude protein < 0.5 %; crude fibre 1.2 %; crude oils and fats < 0.5 %; crude ash 29.05 %; calcium 2 %; sodium 0.01 %; magnesium 0.62 %; moisture 52 %.
- Storage: Store at room temperature - Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.
