Ready-to-use solution for inhalation

Emser Inhalation Solution is a ready-to-use, isotonic solution of natural Emser salt. It is used to moisturise and clear the airways. Emser Inhalation Solution actively loosens mucus, stimulates the activity of the cilia and thus supports the respiratory tract’s natural cleansing mechanisms.

This is because mucus can only be transported out of the bronchi if the cilia are functioning at their best and the mucus is not too thick.

For inhalation using a cold nebuliser – Emser® Inhalation Solution:

• Emser Inhalation Solution is particularly helpful for respiratory conditions associated with increased mucus production.
• Emser Inhalation Solution actively loosens mucus and supports the activity of the ciliated cells. This helps to support the respiratory tract’s natural cleansing mechanisms.

Its use has proven particularly effective in:

• Acute and chronic bronchitis
• Chronic obstructive bronchitis (COPD)
• Bronchial asthma
• Cystic fibrosis
• Acute and chronic sinusitis
• As a carrier solution for the inhalation of beta-sympathomimetics and anticholinergics

It can also be used as a carrier solution with common respiratory medications, meaning that a single inhalation can achieve multiple effects.

Directions for use

The following information appliesunless your doctor has prescribed Emser® Inhalation Solution differently . Please follow the instructions for use, as otherwiseEmser® Inhalation Solution may not work properly!

Emser® Inhalation Solution should be inhaled 3 to 4 times a day, with 5 ml of solution inhaled during each session . Inhalation should always be carried out using a suitable nebuliser. Compressed-air or ultrasonic inhalers are suitable.

Depending on the type of device , the volume required for nebulisation may vary considerably. In this case , enough solution should be placed in the inhaler to ensurean inhalation time of 10 to 15 minutes.

If Emser® Inhalation Solution is to be used as a carrier solution for other inhalation solutions , such as beta-sympathomimetics and anticholinergics , the dilution instructions provided by the relevant manufacturers should be followed.

As a general rule, these medicines should be mixedwith 2–5 ml of Emser® Inhalation Solution.

Please note: Mixtures must be prepared fresh before each inhalation and must not be stored .

There is no limit to the duration of use of Emser® Inhalation Solution; please follow your doctor’s instructions.
