The Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus is a portable inhalation device that is used for respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma, bronchitis or COPD. Battery-operated and quiet, the handy inhalation device can be used anywhere - at home, on the move or on holiday.

Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus: Mobile nebuliser with oscillating membrane technology

Inhalation is recommended for diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, for example allergic asthma, acute or chronic bronchitis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), cystic fibrosis or acute sinusitis.

The Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus is a modern inhalation device that nebulises inhalation solutions or liquid medication into very fine droplets for inhalation. This is achieved by means of vibrations from a membrane in the device. This allows the active ingredients to reach the finest branches of the bronchial tubes during inhalation, where they can have a targeted effect on the mucous membranes.

When used regularly, inhalation therapy can alleviate acute respiratory diseases and their accompanying symptoms and support healing.

For colds, natural solutions such as isotonic solutions made from natural Emser salt are very suitable for inhalation. They alleviate symptoms and sometimes prevent an exacerbation of the cold.

If you have been diagnosed with chronic respiratory diseases, inhalation therapy should always be carried out in consultation with your doctor. The Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus can also be used to inhale medication prescribed by a doctor, please refer to the instructions for use.

Variable nebulisation performance

The new Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus impresses with a variable nebulisation rate of ≥ 0.2 ml/min and ≥ 0.4 ml/min. The advantage: it can be individually adapted to different requirements. Depending on the setting, the device nebulises the solution at a rate of at least 0.2 ml or 0.4 ml per minute. The lower setting ensures a moderate, even intake - ideal for children, sensitive airways or smaller amounts of medication. The higher level enables faster administration, for example for adults or when a larger amount of medication needs to be administered in a shorter time. This means that inhalation can be optimally customised to the respective user and treatment situation.

Now new: flexible swivelling up to 45°

Thanks to the optimised nebuliser attachment, the Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus can be moved up to 45 degrees to the side or up or down without the inhalation solution leaking out. This makes it more flexible to use and allows the user to use the device in a more comfortable position, which makes it much easier to use even if mobility is restricted. This means that the position can be customised, even for inhalation for children or people in need of care, for example.

Intelligent aerosol technology stops nebulisation during exhalation

The Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus features the brand new intelligent aerosol technology, which stops nebulisation during exhalation: the inhalation device is equipped with an intelligent control system that detects exhalation and interrupts nebulisation for this moment. Why does this make sense? This technological innovation can achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness as well as more convenient use: This is because the inhalate would otherwise be released into the air unused for the duration of the exhalation. Consequently, the technology can increase the absorption of the active ingredient into the bronchial tubes.

How to use

Prepare the inhaler:

1. Push the medication container with the nebuliser into the housing from the front until you hear it click into place.
2. Open the medication container by opening the handle and flip the lid upwards.
3. Fill the medication and/or the saline solution into the medication container. Close the lid so that the clip clicks.
4. Attach the desired accessory (mask, mouthpiece or paediatric mask) to the medication container.
5. Place the device on your mouth (mouthpiece) or hold the mask over your mouth and nose. Inhalation can now begin.

Inhalation with the Emser® Inhaler Compact plus:

• Breathe in deeply and slowly through your mouth or nose. Hold your breath briefly and then breathe out again in a relaxed manner. Hold the device as vertically as possible. Please also follow the instructions for use of the medication you are using.
• One inhalation of the isotonic Emser salt solution should last about 10 to 15 minutes. The device has an automatic switch-off function as soon as the liquid is almost used up.

After inhalation:

• Remove the accessories used, such as the mask or mouthpiece, from the medication container. Then remove the medication container and nebuliser from the device by pressing the button on the back of the device and pulling the medication container horizontally forwards.
• The nebuliser with container and the accessories should be cleaned after each use for approximately 5 minutes with water at a maximum temperature of 40°C, ideally distilled water. To clean the medication container, please also follow the self-cleaning procedure described in the instructions for use. Then dry the individual parts with a soft cloth and leave them to dry completely on a clean, absorbent surface. Only then reassemble the parts and place the appliance in a dry, sealed container (see also instructions for use).
• It is recommended to disinfect the individual parts regularly. You can disinfect the nebuliser, the medication container and the mouthpiece in two different ways, with ethyl alcohol or in boiling water. However, the masks must be cleaned with ethyl alcohol. Please refer to the instructions for use for details.

Which medication can be used for inhalation?

• We stock isotonic and hypertonic inhalation solutions with natural Emser salt. If your doctor recommends another medication for inhalation, this must have a viscosity (viscosity) of < 3.
• Medication containing oil (e.g. essential oils) must not be used for inhalation in the Emser® Inhaler Compact Plus, as the nebuliser may otherwise clog. Do not fill in medication in solid form; suitable medication must first be dissolved in accordance with the respective instructions for use. Of course, only the doctor can decide which medication should be used to treat your condition.
