Elytro Glucose-Electrolyte Mix sachets are a foodstuff for special medical purposes (balanced diet). For the dietary management of fluid deficiency (dehydration) associated with diarrhoea.

It is formulated in such a way that electrolyte and water balance can be restored safely . The ratio of the ingredients in Elytro is precisely balanced, has been adjusted and corresponds to the reduced osmolarity of the WHO formulation for the replacement of lost electrolytes. Elytro is a glucose-electrolyte mixture in powder form, specifically developed to address fluid loss caused by diarrhoea and to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes as quickly as possible.

This provides you with a simple and neutral-tasting solution for restoring hydration. The balanced formula contains a combination of glucose and electrolytes, which helps to restore the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance whilst providing the necessary energy. Help with diarrhoea: the body needs fluids and electrolytes

Sudden-onset acute diarrhoea is unpleasant and can have various causes. It is usually harmless, but acute diarrhoea carries a high risk of dehydration due to significant fluid loss. It is therefore extremely important to quickly restore the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance when suffering from diarrhoea. The first rule is: drink plenty of fluids and choose suitable drinks. However, water alone is not enough, as the body needs electrolytes.

Why are electrolytes so important?

To ensure that the body functions normally, it is crucial that fluid balance does not fluctuate significantly. Certain minerals play a significant role in this regulation, particularly the macrominerals, which the body requires in relatively large quantities. These minerals act as electrolytes. Electrolytes are minerals that carry an electrical charge in fluids such as blood. The blood contains electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate, which play important roles in regulating nerve and muscle function. They also help to maintain a stable balance in the body’s acid-base and water balance.

Directions for use

Dissolve the contents of one sachet (each sachet contains 4.13 g of powder mixture) in 200 ml of boiled, cooled water or tea and drink whilst warm or cold. The duration of treatment depends on the doctor’s instructions.
Children aged 3 years and over, adolescents and adults: Drink the contents of the sachet, dissolved in 200 ml of liquid, several times a day as required. In cases of severe diarrhoea, adults may drink up to 4 litres of Elytro spread throughout the day . This corresponds to 20 sachets.

Ingredients

Ingredients: glucose, table salt, sodium citrate, potassium chloride, sweeteners acesulfame K and aspartame. The mineral content has been adjusted to achieve the required osmolarity. “Contains per sachet: salt 0.52 g (of which sodium 320 mg)”. Contains a source of phenylalanine.
