Product information "ERAZABAN 100 mg/g cream"
Erazaban is a white cream containing the antiviral agent docosanol, which is used to treat recurrent cold sores (fever blisters) in the early stages in adults and adolescents (over 12 years of age).
To be effective, treatment with Erazaban must be started at the beginning of a cold sore, before blisters appear. Start using Erazaban as soon as you experience any of the signs of a cold sore such as redness, itching, pain, tingling or stinging. Continue use until the cold sore has disappeared, usually 4 to 6 days.
The cause of cold sores is an infection with the herpes simplex virus. The infection can break out when the immune system is weakened, during stress or during menstruation. The virus causes blisters or sores, mainly on the lips.
