Aggressive substances are produced in the body's cells as a result of metabolism. These aggressive substances are known as "free radicals". The body has protective mechanisms to bind these "free radicals" and render them harmless. Environmental pollution (radiation, cigarette smoke, chemicals) and increased stress on the body weaken and overwhelm the defence of these cells. Selenium, vitamin E and vitamin C 1 play a central role in this cell defence. They are also known as "antioxidant substances" and support the body's defences.2

As the soil in Germany contains little selenium, natural selenium is often not sufficiently available in our diet in the event of increased demand and an unbalanced diet. In combination with vitamin E and vitamin C, it provides excellent protection to maintain the body's defences2. As selenium is biologically bound in an amino acid, vitamin C does not interfere with the absorption of selenium.
