Glucosinolates in broccoli seeds
Sulforaphane and glucoraphane are secondary plant substances and belong to the group of glucosinolates (mustard oil glycosides). Broccoli is a very good source of sulforaphane and glucoraphane, especially in the seeds and sprouts. However, as the compounds are heat-sensitive and water-soluble, the content is greatly reduced in cooked vegetables
The synergy of selected plant substances
- In order for the glucosinolates contained in broccoli seeds to be available to the body, they must be broken down before consumption. This can be done, for example, by grinding/crushing or sprouting. The broccoli seeds for Sulfoforte plus are gently ground in a special process, which activates the formation of sulforaphane
- Sulfoforte plus also contains the secondary plant substances resveratrol and quercetin as well as green tea extract and seaweed extract. Natural iodine supports the normal function of the thyroid gland and balances the effect of glucosinolates, which can increase iodine requirements.
