Oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) – also known as wild marjoram – is a herb native to the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean. This member of the mint family, also known as wild marjoram, is a popular herb and was already highly prized in ancient Egypt and Greece. For centuries, people in the Mediterranean region have valued, amongst other things, the tannins and bitter compounds it contains, and enjoy drinking the herb as a tea.

Valuable essential oil

The oregano plant contains approximately 0.1 to 1 per cent essential oil. This is extracted from the plant using a gentle steam distillation process. The phenolic monoterpenes carvacrol and thymol are particularly valuable components of oregano essential oil. Each Dr. Jacob’s oregano oil capsule contains 133 mg of oregano oil, 70 per cent of which is carvacrol and 3.5 per cent of which is thymol. The oregano oil is suspended in naturally pure, first-class olive oil.

Many capsules containing liquid have a gelatine shell of animal origin. Dr Jacob’s oregano oil capsules are free from animal-derived ingredients. We use GREENCAPS vegan liquid capsules, which ensure optimal absorption and stability of the oil they contain.

Take 1 capsule daily with a meal. Please do not open the capsule, as the contents are highly concentrated.
Note: Not suitable for pregnant women.
