Krill oil is obtained from Antarctic krill, a miniature shrimp. Krill live in huge swarms, are the most successful animal population in the world, reproduce rapidly and are not predatory fish, as they live only on plant microalgae. Therefore, no environmental toxins accumulate in its fat. Its catch in Antarctic waters is strictly limited, with only a tenth of the permitted amount being harvested and only a tenth of this is used for the production of food supplements.
Why is krill oil so valuable?
For several reasons... Krill oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which belong to the unsaturated fatty acids, are essential for the body and should be sufficiently present in the diet, as they cannot be produced by the body itself. Omega-3 fatty acids are required daily for many bodily functions. Replacing saturated fatty acids with monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels, for example.
Krill oil also contains phospholipids, which are responsible for improving the absorption of omega-3 fatty acids. Because they are bound to phospholipids, the omega-3 fatty acids in krill oil are much easier to digest than other sources of omega-3 and are preferentially absorbed without first having to be prepared via bile acids and processed by the liver. Krill oil even has an ideal ratio of its omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) to DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
Omega-3 fatty acids in the daily dose of 250 mg EPA+DHA contribute to

Premium krill oil: Standardised content of omega-3 fatty acids and phospholipids Natural, seasonal fluctuations in the valuable ingredients - for example when krill are caught after hibernation - are balanced out in this standardised product to consistently high levels.
Premium krill oil + 6 mg astaxanthin per daily dose
6 mg astaxanthin per daily dose is the maximum daily amount permitted in the EU. Premium Krill Oil therefore saves you having to buy your own astaxanthin supplement. Krill feed on microalgae, the actual source of the red pigment astaxanthin. It is naturally bound in krill oil and is also added to Premium Krill Oil in its natural form from Haematococcus pluvialis algae, so that each capsule contains 3 mg of astaxanthin (other brands often only contain micrograms of astaxanthin). The high astaxanthin content is visually recognisable by the black colour (the capsule shell itself is colourless). Astaxanthin is a strong antioxidant and reduces oxidation processes - this is favourable for product quality, among other things.

How to use
- 1 - 2 capsules daily with meals.
- Advice: If taking blood thinners at the same time, check the Quick value regularly. Not recommended in case of allergy to crustaceans and fish.
Ingredients
- Ingredients: Krill oil 80 %, fish oil 20 %, astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis algae, soft gelatine capsule (bovine gelatine, glycerine, water, humectant: sorbitol).
- Composition per daily dose (2 capsules): Omega-3 fatty acids 450 mg of which EPA 278 mg of which DHA 145 mg of which sum EPA+DHA 423 mg, astaxanthin** 6 mg, choline 346 mg. **Astaxanthin has a number of very good properties and is therefore also available on the market as a separate food supplement. With premium krill oil, there is no need to buy an additional astaxanthin preparation, as 2 capsules a day already provide 6 mg of astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is an oil-soluble, powerful antioxidant and reduces oxidation processes ("rancidity of fats") - this is favourable for product quality and health! Krill feed on microalgae, the actual source of the red pigment astaxanthin. It is naturally bound in krill oil and is also added to premium krill oil in its natural form from Haematococcus pluvialis algae. The high astaxanthin content is visually recognisable by its black colour (the capsule shell itself is colourless).
