Dr Eberhardt’s Organic Arabic Frankincense Essential Oil is obtained through gentle steam distillation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is valued for strengthening the Qi, invigorating the mind and promoting moments of relaxation.
I am travelling through Somalia. A balsamic scent surrounds me. Frankincense helps to balance mood swings and stimulates the immune system. It nourishes mature, irritated and reddened skin. According to TCM, the oil has a warming effect and strengthens the Qi and the mind.
Even in ancient times, frankincense was regarded as a precious gift, the possession of which was a sign of wealth. The fresh, balsamic, warm aroma of frankincense has been an integral part of religious rituals and meditation for millennia.
Frankincense is the resin of the Somali frankincense tree. When the bark is scored, a white sap oozes out and hardens. This resin is distilled into oil in France.
Traditionally, frankincense is said to help mature, irritated and reddened skin. In Ayurveda, it is used to dispel gloomy thoughts and to restore joy to life.
