It almost sounds like a law of nature: wintertime - ready for defence! To get through the cold season in good health, our immune system runs at full speed. This is because the dry heating air inside and frosty temperatures outside place high demands on our largest protective organ - the skin - and the entire network of defences inside.
Our immune system and skin can also be challenged in stressful situations (e.g. during physical exertion). This can also increase the need for nutrients such as zinc, which play a role in this.
As an all-rounder for health, the trace element zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system and supports the maintenance of normal skin and hair. Externally, well-filled zinc stores can be seen on the skin, hair and nails, which the essential trace element helps to maintain.
The ZINC IMMUN DEPOT tablets from Doppelherz system contain 15 mg zinc from organic zinc picolinate in combination with 100 mg histidine as well as 50 μg selenium and 1000 I.U. vitamin D3.

Plus histidine + vitamin D and selenium
- Histidine: Due to its electron configuration, zinc prefers to form compounds with amino acids. Histidine is one of the essential amino acids that are regularly ingested with food. Compared to animal foods, plant foods usually only contain small amounts of histidine.
- Vitamin D: Among other things, vitamin D supports the immune system and helps to maintain bone and muscle function. Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) can be produced by the body itself. When the sun's rays hit the skin directly, complex processes are set in motion that ultimately produce vitamin D that can be utilised by the body. However, sun protection creams with a high sun protection factor prevent this self-production, as the required UV-B rays cannot penetrate.
Particularly in winter, the intensity of the sun's rays is no longer sufficient. As a result, the reserves are further depleted over the course of the winter.
Trace element selenium
- As the body cannot produce selenium itself, it should be taken in regularly with food. Selenium has many vital functions in the body:
- Among other things, selenium helps to protect cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system. The trace element is also required for normal thyroid function. It is not always easy to ensure a sufficient supply of selenium with plant-based foods, as the soils in Germany can be classified as low in selenium. Protein-rich foods such as pork, poultry, fish and eggs are among the richest sources of selenium.

- Take 1 tablet daily unchewed with sufficient liquid.
- Advice: Not suitable for children and adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
