How does activated charcoal work in the body?

Activated charcoal has a porous structure, similar to a sponge, and therefore has a large surface area. This structure of activated charcoal makes it possible to bind gases and remove them from the body. How to use

• Take 4 tablets (equivalent to 1 g activated charcoal) unchewed with sufficient liquid at least 30 minutes before a meal and 4 tablets after a meal.
• Advice: Keep out of the reach of small children. Not suitable for children under 6 years of age. An interval of at least one hour is recommended between consuming the activated charcoal and taking medication. A possible black colouration of the stool is normal and absolutely harmless.
