The extra boost for liver function*

A low-fat, balanced diet that provides our body with sufficient nutrients is important for a healthy liver and digestion. Choline helps maintain normal liver function.

The liver performs numerous metabolic functions. As a key metabolic organ, it plays a role, for example, in the utilisation of nutrients, the regulation of fat metabolism and the production of bile. A high-fat diet and a lack of exercise can put a strain on our liver, other digestive organs and our metabolism.

Zinc: This essential trace element contributes to normal fatty acid metabolism and also helps to protect cells from oxidative stress. Zinc also contributes to normal carbohydrate, vitamin A and acid-base metabolism. Zinc occurs naturally in significant quantities primarily in foods such as beef, pork, fish, shellfish, eggs, milk and cheese. Plant-based foods such as nuts, cereals and pulses also provide zinc – albeit in smaller amounts.
Vitamin B2: Also known as riboflavin, vitamin B2 contributes to normal energy metabolism and also helps to reduce tiredness and fatigue. Foods rich in vitamin B2 include milk and dairy products, wholegrain products, meat and fish such as pollock or mackerel. Offal such as liver, yeast, cereal germ and certain types of cheese (e.g. whey cheese, Camembert, mountain cheese and Emmental) are particularly high in vitamin B2.
Choline: As a component of animal and plant tissues, choline is found in a wide range of foods. Chicken egg yolks, in particular, contain high amounts. Significant amounts are also found in offal such as liver and heart, in fish and meat, as well as in wholemeal products, nuts and vegetables.
Dandelion: This ubiquitous yellow-flowered plant, with the Latin name Taraxacum officinale, belongs to the Asteraceae family and has now found its way into the kitchen as an ingredient in dishes such as pesto, jam and salads.

The use of milk thistle, artichoke, turmeric and peppermint has a long tradition.

What makes Doppelherz system Leber Extra special is that it contains choline, zinc and vitamin B2 – nutrients we would otherwise obtain primarily from animal sources – as well as selected plant extracts in a purely plant-based capsule. It is therefore also suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Directions for use

Take 2 capsules daily with a meal and plenty of liquid.
Notes: If you are taking other medicines at the same time, you should discuss this with your doctor. If your daily zinc intake exceeds 3.5 mg, you should avoid taking any further zinc-containing food supplements. Not suitable for children, adolescents, pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. As a precaution, you should avoid taking this product if you are allergic to composite flowers.
