Reasons for dry eyes
- Environmental factors: climatic changes, pollution, dust, solar radiation, dry or very hot air, air conditioning
- Mechanical stress such as inefficient blinking due to prolonged screen use or prolonged driving, reading, wearing contact lenses
- Age, menopause or post-menopausal status, physiological decrease in absorption of vitamin B12 through diet
- Nutrient deficiency, e.g. declining or insufficient intake of vitamins
- Blepharitis: In this case, blinking after instillation of the eye drops also facilitates the release of secretions on the lash line.
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible polymer and occurs naturally in many human tissues. It gives the product a lubricating effect thanks to its viscoelastic and water-retaining properties. It also restores tear volume. Rosmarinic acid and vitamin B12 are antioxidant substances that react with free radicals and neutralise them. The antioxidant effect takes place on the surface of the cornea.
Antioxidant effect
Doppelherz Eye Drops blue light DUO is suitable for dry eyes, eye allergies or other eye complaints caused by environmental or mechanical stress. The eye drops protect against UV radiation and blue light and restore the tear volume. They remove allergens from the tear film by inducing blinking as a result of dripping and counteract the phenomenon of oxidation by strengthening the physiological antioxidant mechanisms. In addition, the eye drops reduce mild to moderate symptoms of dry eye accompanied by itching, burning or a foreign body sensation.
Doppelherz Eye Drops blue light DUO, in combination with rosmarinic acid and vitamin B12, have an antioxidant activity that counteracts the effect of free radicals (which are produced on the surface of the eye after exposure to the sun), which over time damage both the pigment epithelium and the photoreceptors and thus induce macular degeneration and cause crystalline opacification with the onset of a cataract. Furthermore, thanks to their antioxidant effect, Doppelherz Eye Drops blue light DUO protect the eyes from damage caused by UV radiation and blue light, both natural (sun) and artificial, e.g. from PCs, tablets, smartphones and TV screens.
Doppelherz Augen-Tropfen blue light DUO is also indicated for frequent and prolonged use. Doppelherz Augen-Tropfen blue light DUO can be used with daily contact lenses: A slight difference in the colour of the lenses when removing them does not affect the optical properties.

How to use
- Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before use.
- Remove the tamper-evident closure before first use.
- Remove the protective cap.
- Press the container and instil 2 drops into each eye, unless otherwise prescribed.
- Wait a few seconds after each drop without pressing on the bottle. This allows sufficient air to flow back into the system. Otherwise it will be more difficult to get the drops out.
- The gradual emptying of the bottle may require a higher pressure to dispense the product. This is due to the characteristics of the closure system, which preserves the sterility as well as the chemical and physical properties of preservative-free solutions. In addition, a small amount of solution always remains in the bottle.
- Shake off the remaining drop from the tip after use.
- Close the bottle with the cap immediately after use.
- Do not replace the protective cap if the container is still compressed.
- Do not bring the dropper tip into contact with anything, not even your eyes or fingers.
- The product can be used for up to 3 months after the first opening.
