Usage
One pack of Desmoxan (100 tablets) is sufficient for a full course of treatment. The treatment lasts 25 days. Desmoxan is a medicine for oral use. The tablets should be taken with a sufficient amount of water according to the following schedule.
For adults aged 18 to 65 only:
- Days 1 to 3: 1 tablet every 2 hours – maximum dose: 6 tablets
- From day 4 to day 12: 1 tablet every 2½ hours – maximum dose: 5 tablets
- From day 13 to day 16: 1 tablet every 3 hours – maximum dose: 4 tablets
- From day 17 to day 20: 1 tablet every 5 hours – maximum dose – 3 tablets
- From day 21 to day 25: 1–2 tablets per day – maximum dose – up to 2 tablets
Smoking must be stopped by the 5th day of treatment at the latest. Smoking must not be continued during treatment, as this may lead to increased side effects. If the treatment fails, it must be discontinued and may be resumed after 2 to
3 months.
Ingredients
- What Desmoxan contains - The active ingredient is cytisiniclin (previously known as cytisin). One tablet contains 1.5 mg of cytisiniclin.
- The other ingredients are: mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, glycerol dibehenate, hypromellose.
