Dechra Floracid Novo complex drinker powder for calves, 1 KG

Product information "Dechra Floracid Novo complex drinker powder for calves"
Dechra Floracid Novo Complex Drinking Powder is a dietary supplement for rearing calves (suckling calves). To stabilise the water and electrolyte balance and to support physiological digestion. Microencapsulated, probiotic lactic acid bacteria to stabilise the intestinal flora.

Various infections in calves that cause losses can be traced back to a disturbance in physiological gastrointestinal function. Feeding problems are often the main trigger. The change in the natural bacterial flora (dysbiosis) plays a key role here. Maintaining and supporting this natural bacterial flora is therefore the primary objective. Explanations of the ingredients: Floracid® Novo has essential nutritional and dietary characteristics for the prevention, treatment and convalescence of diarrhoeal diseases. Floracid® Novo is free from antibiotics.

"Cernelle 68" - the microencapsulated probiotic in premium quality

Floracid® Novo contains highly dosed, specially microencapsulated, viable and reproducible lactic acid bacteria of the Enterococcus faecium "Cernelle 68" strain as a probiotic. The microcapsule reliably protects the probiotic from attacks by stomach acid and the harmful effects of bile salts. Non-encapsulated probiotics usually do not survive the passage through the stomach.

The bacteria released from the microcapsule only multiply in the terminal small intestine, ileum and colon. This happens particularly quickly, because "Cernelle 68" has an extremely short start-up phase (lag phase), i.e. after a very short time the bacteria are adapted to the intestinal environment and immediately enter the exponential log phase (massive multiplication). The support of the physiological intestinal flora is therefore immediate. Foreign germs can thus be warded off and diarrhoea-causing germs can be reduced through germ competition. The body is supported in forming its own antibodies and strengthening its defences. In the case of mild infections, foreign germs are even eliminated completely.

  • Electrolytes and minerals: Sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and chlorides make up for the amounts lost through faeces and stabilise the electrolyte balance.
  • Glucose (dextrose): Glucose is a direct and rapidly utilisable source of energy for all body cells, especially intestinal cells. It serves as an energy source for the entire organism and for the rapid regeneration of the intestinal mucosa.
  • Whey powder with lactose (milk sugar): Firstly, a drink tastes much better with whey powder. This is very important, because without acceptance there is no effect! And secondly, milk digestion is maintained, as the lactose-splitting enzymes in the small intestine must continue to be produced. This makes it easier to return to the usual milk-based diet.
  • Lactose (milk sugar): The additionally added milk sugar serves as an energy source that is available for a longer period of time. The blood sugar level is supported immediately by glucose and over a longer period of time by lactose. In addition, lactose is converted into lactic acid by intestinal bacteria (pH reduction).
  • Glycine: The flavouring component glycine (an amino acid) has a high sweetening power. Together with glucose, glycine serves to additionally increase acceptance. Glycine is also said to play a role in rehydration by optimising the absorption of water from the intestine into the body (osmoregulation).
  • Banana flakes and locust bean gum: Both feed materials are rich in prebiotic substances, which are available as food for the positive flora of the large intestine (prebiotics).
  • Vegetable pectins and fibre-rich citrus pomace: Mucilage-forming pectins protect the damaged intestinal wall and accelerate the thickening of the intestinal contents. Fibre-rich citrus pomace can bind bacteria and toxins. As a result, these are excreted harmlessly, creating an intestinal cleansing effect.
