Dechra AviConcept® by Dr Steinmetz powder is a feed supplement for ornamental and wild birds, as well as pigeons, designed to support feather development during periods of increased nutritional requirements, such as moulting, egg-laying and growth.

Directions for use
Initially, administer daily for a period of 2 to 4 weeks:
- Ornamental and wild birds weighing approximately 40 g: 0.5 g of AviConcept® mixed with their usual feed, in soft feed or sprinkled over fruit.
- Parrots and pigeons: Mix 2 g of AviConcept® per 500 g of body weight into their usual mixed feed or sprinkle it over the fruit provided. A heaped measuring spoon contains approx. 0.5 g of AviConcept®. To help it stick better, seed mix or millet can be lightly moistened with a little water.
- For aviary birds, AviConcept® can also be mixed with honey and offered for free-choice consumption. Offer fresh daily.
Veterinary advice should be sought before extending the feeding period. Due to its higher zinc content compared to a complete feed, the proportion of AviConcept® in the total ration should not exceed 2.0 per cent.
Ingredients
- Composition: Glucose, seaweed meal, yeast powder.
- Additives per kg: Amino acids: 371,120 mg L-lysine [as L-lysine monohydrochloride, 3c322], 214,000 mg DL-methionine [3c301], 500,000 μg D-(+)-biotin [3a880]. Trace elements: 5,900 mg zinc [as amino acid zinc chelate hydrate, 3b606, and zinc sulphate monohydrate, 3b605] Technological additives: 75,000 mg diatomaceous earth [E 551c], sodium propionate [E 281].
- Analytical constituents: 61% crude protein, 1.0% crude fat, 0.4% crude fibre, 18% crude ash.
