Cutimed® Sorbion® Sorbact® is a wound dressing that binds bacteria and fungi, featuring Sorbact technology. The wound dressing consists of a Sorbact DACC™-coated wound-contact layer combined with a super-absorbent core, which absorbs and binds excess exudate, thereby optimising the wound environment. Through its purely physical mechanism of action, bacteria and fungi are bound and removed at each dressing change, without the release of additional endotoxins.

Cutimed® Sorbion® Sorbact® binds microorganisms according to
the principle of hydrophobic interaction,
whilst the high-performance absorbent core absorbs large
volumes of exudate and securely
traps them within the product. This means that with every
dressing change, the bacterial count in the wound is reduced and the risk of maceration is minimised.

Indications
For infection prophylaxis and the treatment of contaminated, colonised or infected wounds with heavy to excessive exudate, such as:
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic leg ulcers

- Post-operative wounds

Use
The frequency of dressing changes depends on the amount of exudate, the overall condition of the wound and the surrounding tissue. If the clinical condition permits, the wound dressing may remain in place on the wound for up to 7 days.
