Cutimed Sorbion Carbon+ is the ideal wound dressing for heavily exuding wounds. The innovative combination of activated carbon and superabsorbent reliably binds unpleasant odours and promotes an optimal wound healing environment.

Effective exudate management that reduces wound odour

Cutimed® Sorbion® Carbon+ reliably absorbs and stores wound fluids in the superabsorbent core, even under compression. This leads to the elimination of factors that inhibit wound healing, such as bacteria, proteases and inflammatory carriers, and minimises the risk of maceration. At the same time, the dressing ensures a moist wound environment, which supports the body's own wound healing process. The high absorption capacity of Cutimed Sorbion® Carbon+ allows the wound to rest longer compared to conventional wound dressings. The improved fluid absorption capacity reduces unpleasant odours. Dead tissue adheres to the dressing and is gently removed when the dressing is changed, which supports wound cleansing (soft debridement). The top layer is particularly flexible, waterproof and breathable and acts as a bacterial barrier. Small black particles may be visible through the wound contact layer. This is common with products containing activated charcoal and has no impact on the performance and safety of the product.

The structure of Cutimed® Sorbion® Carbon +

Cutimed® Sorbion® Carbon+ is a sterile, hydroactive, gel-forming, highly exudate-absorbing wound dressing that effectively and permanently reduces wound-related odours. This is based on the dual action of activated charcoal and naturally occurring minerals. Cutimed® Sorbion® Carbon+ consists of a highly water-retaining, super-absorbent core, a wound contact layer made of hypoallergenic polypropylene and a breathable, waterproof polyurethane backing.

  • Wound odour control - Combines activated charcoal and the natural mineral zeolite to bind odour molecules within the dressing --> long-lasting odour reduction.
  • Reliably traps fluid - Absorbs wound fluid and reliably traps it in the highly absorbent core. Eliminates inhibitory factors for wound healing, including bacteria and proteases. Promotes a moist wound environment that supports the body's own wound healing --> protection against maceration.
  • Wound cleansing effect - Gentle debridement of unhealthy tissue --> Creates optimal wound healing conditions.
  • Effective under compression therapy - Locks in most of the absorbed exudate even under compression --> Enables holistic therapy
