Cutimed® Sorbact® absorbent dressings are a sterile bacteria- and fungus-binding dressing with a thick absorbent layer for additional exudate absorption. With the unique mechanism of action of Cutimed® Sorbact®.
The Cutimed Sorbact wound dressing is unique with its dialkyl carbamoyl chloride (DACC) coating and its physical mode of action. Cutimed Sorbact is therefore not only safe to use on infected wounds, but is also reimbursable according to the new definition of dressings. However, the reimbursability of silver and PHMB wound dressings is unclear after the transition period.
Cutimed® Sorbact® is an innovative wound dressing that combats infections in a particularly safe and efficient way - purely physically. Cutimed® Sorbact® binds germs according to the principle of hydrophobic interaction and does not require the use of chemical antimicrobial substances: The special Sorbact® coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are hydrophobic by nature and therefore bind to the Sorbact® fabric. This reduces the bacterial count in the wound with each dressing change and creates optimum conditions for the natural wound healing process.
Cutimed® Sorbact® consists of acetate or cotton fabric fibres, which offer effective infection management thanks to a bacteria-binding coating.
