Cutimed® Sorbact® absorbent pad sterile, 10 x 10 cm, 5 ST

Product information "Cutimed® Sorbact® absorbent pad sterile, 10 x 10 cm"

Cutimed® Sorbact® absorbent dressings are sterile dressings that bind bacteria and fungi, featuring a thick absorbent layer for additional exudate absorption. Featuring the unique mechanism of action of Cutimed® Sorbact®.

The Cutimed Sorbact wound dressing is unique thanks to its dialkylcarbamoyl chloride (DACC) coating and its physical mode of action. This means that Cutimed Sorbact is not only safe to use on infected wounds, but is also eligible for reimbursement under the new definition of dressings. The eligibility for reimbursement of silver and PHMB wound dressings, on the other hand, remains unclear following the transition period.

Cutimed® Sorbact® is an innovative wound dressing that combats infections in a particularly safe and efficient manner – purely through physical means. Cutimed® Sorbact® binds pathogens based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction and does not require the use of chemical antimicrobial substances: the special Sorbact® coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact® fabric. This reduces the bacterial count in the wound with every dressing change and creates optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.

Cutimed® Sorbact® consists of acetate or cotton fibres, which, thanks to a bacteria-binding coating, provide effective infection management.
