Cuticell® Contact is a sterile primary dressing for low- to high-exudate wounds; it adheres to the surrounding skin but not to the moist wound (Siltec® technology).
The silicone-based wound contact layer protects wounds from trauma and promotes wound healing by allowing the dressing to remain in place for extended periods. Cuticell® Contact acts as a protective layer and reduces the risk of the dressing adhering to the wound bed. The special perforated structure, transparency and flexibility round off the product perfectly.
Features
- Atraumatic removal: The silicone-coated wound contact layer adheres only to the dry surrounding tissue – not to the moist wound surface. This promotes an undisturbed healing process through atraumatic dressing changes.
- Permeable to air and wound exudate: Supports the moist healing environment by being permeable to air andexudate. Enables the absorption of wound fluid by a suitable absorbent pad.
- Silicone base: Coated on one side with soft silicone. Whilst wound fluid can pass through, this prevents the absorbent secondary dressing from becoming embedded in the wound.

Application
Whilst wound exudate can pass freely through the silicone-coated dressing, this simultaneously prevents the absorbent secondary dressing from becoming embedded in the wound. In this way, the secondary dressing can be changed at any time without traumatising the wound. The result is an undisturbed healing process and a high level of safety during treatment.
Cuticell® Contact is suitable for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds, such as:
- leg ulcers, pressure ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Blistering
- First- and second-degree burns
- Split-skin graft sites
- Cuts, grazes and skin tears
Cuticell® Contact can be used as a wound contact layer in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). Cuticell Contact® can be used in combination with antiseptics.
Duration of use: up to 14 days, depending on the condition of the wound (e.g. amount of exudate) and the choice of secondary dressing.
Ingredients
Cuticell® Contact consists of a thin, elastic polyurethane film coated on one side with soft silicone.
